Technology is a dynamic field. Nothing stays the same in the technology universe. Moreover, the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries continue to evolve in terms of decentralization as well and other technology related advancements.

The launch of the first cryptocurrency smartphone a few months back by the mobile phone manufacturer HTC was a game changer in the industry. It is true to say that one cannot talk about blockchain and cryptocurrency without mentioning decentralization. HTC Exodus 1 is leading the way when it comes to decentralization, crypto accessibility and security.

Initially, HTC Exodus 1 could only be purchased with crypto. However, today the company announced in a full release that users can now purchase the smartphone using fiat currency. In addition to that, the new updates including decentralized applications are now available to all the early purchasers of the device. However, they will need to update in order to effect the changes.

Another new mode of purchasing HTC Exodus 1 is supported by Binance following a partnership agreement that allows customers to do so using Binance Coin (BNB).

“EXODUS is about the future of data and getting the right architecture for the Internet, one that includes security, privacy and transfer of ownership of data back to the person generating it.” Phil Chen, Decentralized Chief Officer at HTC said in the press release.

HTC Exodus 1 incorporates easier to use P2P services as well as a cryptocurrency wallet referred to as Zion. The wallet is an all-in-one platform that can be used to store digital assets in addition to the management API that authenticates transactions while at the same time not exposing the private keys.

Another leading smartphone manufacturer, Samsung has integrated a cryptocurrency in its latest flagship device, Samsung Galaxy S10. At the moment, the wallet supports the storage of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Cosmo Coin, a beauty oriented digital asset. However, it is essential to note that Samsung’s wallet is a cold storage wallet.

Certain DApps will be supported on Samsung Galaxy S10 devices with the first one being Cosmee. This application allows users to earn Cosmo tokens as a reward for writing beauty reviews via the app. The application is built by a South Korea-based startup referred to as Cosmochain. In addition to that, Samsung will also include support for Enjin Coin, an Ethereum-based crypto developed for gamers and also introduce contactless payments utilizing cryptocurrency.
